Make the Season Bright for a Dad & His Family

Father Christmas.jpg

In 2015, our partner organization Relationship Foundation of Virginia started a special holiday program to recognize dads facing financial hardships who are still taking an active role in the lives of their children – the Father Christmas program. Over the years, wives, children, guidance counselors, social workers, parents and even ex-wives have nominated dads. Since its inception more than 65 fathers have been honored; last year, ten dads were honored with $500 each. All dads were appreciative, honored and humbled. Better yet, you could see a sense of pride for what they do.

This year, with many facing hardships due to the pandemic, the Relationship Foundation wants to honor another ten dads with $500, in addition, they would also like to take care of gifts for their families. The event may look a little different this year, but we can still give dads hope, allow them to provide for their families and take away some of the stress that the holidays inevitably bring.

Nominations for this year’s Father Christmas recipients begin November 2. For four weeks, members of the community may nominate deserving fathers to be recognized as one of the recipients through the Relationship Foundation’s online form. Click here to find out how to adopt a dad or email Chris Beach at chris@rfva.org if you’re ready to make it a Merry Christmas for a special father and his family!
