Because the Kiwanis Club of Richmond is one of the largest Kiwanis clubs in the world, committees are essential to keeping our service projects, meetings, and operations running smoothly. Every member is encouraged to serve on at least one committee each year.

Member Orientation: Welcomes new members, assigns mentors, and helps them get connected.
Member Care: Supports members experiencing health or personal challenges; tracks attendance; recognizes longevity, perfect attendance, and leadership.
Growth & Retention: Develops strategies to grow membership and retain new members.
Innovation: Introduces creative ideas that enhance Club energy and engagement.

Invocations: Coordinates members to give invocations at Monday meetings.
Music: Recruits members to lead music during meetings.
Reception: Greets members, manages check‑in, and assists with meeting setup and cleanup.
Programs: Schedules speakers and special holiday programs for Monday luncheons.

Club Socials & Networking: Plans social events, networking opportunities, and the annual fall reception.
Diversity: Promotes an inclusive Club culture, recruits diverse members, and recommends programs that strengthen understanding and representation.
Club Satellite: Manages all aspects of the Satellite Club’s meetings, service activities, and member onboarding.
Little Free Library: Oversees the Club’s Little Free Libraries, including stocking, maintenance, and expansion into literacy‑desert neighborhoods.

Community Service: Coordinates long‑standing service projects (Children’s Hospital, Feed More, Salvation Army Bell Ringing & Angel Tree) and develops new opportunities.
Carver Literacy Project: Leads the Club’s signature literacy initiative at Carver Elementary, including funding, partnerships, and program development.
Richmond Public Schools Partnership: Manages volunteer activities in Richmond Public Schools and administers the Adopt‑a‑School Grant Program.

Foundation Partnership Grants: Evaluates nonprofits for Foundation funding and recommends annual grant allocations; oversees Adopt‑a‑School grants.
Golf Tournament: Plans and executes the annual fundraising tournament.
Grant Writing: Prepares and submits grant applications for Club projects and partner schools.
Investments: Manages the Foundation’s invested assets and reports quarterly to the Board.

VCU CKI: Advises and supports the Circle K International chapter at VCU.
Key Club & Scholarships: Supports sponsored Key Clubs, manages scholarship awards, and encourages student participation in leadership programs.

Archives: Maintains Club records, memorabilia, and historical materials.
Communications & PR: Publishes Club news, manages social media, oversees the website, and produces press releases and the annual directory.
Special Administrative Projects: Completes short‑term assignments from the Board and President.
Interclubs: Promotes monthly interclub visits with other Kiwanis clubs.
RVA Chamber: Leverages Chamber membership to increase awareness of Kiwanis among business leaders.
District Projects: Encourages involvement in Kiwanis activities at the Division, Region, and District levels.
