Carver Book Fair Hit with Students & Kiwanians
Kiwanis volunteers teamed up with one of our literacy partners, Carver Elementary, to distribute 400 books to their students during a unique book fair experience in the last week of March before spring break. The event was an extension of our Club’s Little Free Library project.
The primary grades, K-2, enjoyed music by Bob Rogers and read alouds, riddles, and rhymes before selecting a book of their own to take home and keep.
Grades 3-5 had the opportunity to meet children’s book author Amanda Lynch and listen to her read from her books. The children were excited to experience an author who looks like they do, lives where they live, and writes books.
