United by our common mission of service to children, the Kiwanis Club of Richmond is a fellowship of women and men who join together to strengthen our ties to the Richmond community and improve the lives of our city’s young people. We do this as part of Kiwanis International, a global organization of volunteers dedicated to improving the world – one community and one child at a time.
The Kiwanis Club of Richmond has been a fixture in the community for more than a century, and is one of the largest Kiwanis clubs in the world, approximately 150 members strong. We meet weekly at noon on Mondays at the Virginia Museum of History & Culture for a catered speaker luncheon, and host a more intimate “Wine Down Wednesday” after-work gathering on the second and fourth Wednesdays of the month.
What is Kiwanis? More than a century of service.
Fellowship
We pride ourselves on our weekly speaker luncheon, where we host public figures and local experts in their fields who present a variety of topics. We enjoy the camaraderie of friendship with men and women at every age and stage of their careers, from a broad cross-section of the greater metro area. Members say fellowship is what keeps them coming back.
Service
Our mission is to serve the children of Richmond. We are actively involved in both long-term and one-time community service projects, reading and tutoring in the Richmond city schools, and partnering with local non-profits to make a tangible impact on the lives of our city’s young people. We also participate in community events like the Richmond Marathon.
Philanthropy
Giving is an important part of what we do, individually as Kiwanians and collectively as a Club. The Richmond Kiwanis Foundation is a 501(c)3 established to facilitate our philanthropic contribution to the Richmond community. Thanks to responsible management and generous contributions from our members and other supporters, the Foundation boasts a healthy investment portfolio, the proceeds from which maintain the Club’s service budget and make meaningful grants to our community partners.
Why you should join – It’s all about connection.
