This spring our spiritual speaker will be giving a Passover message. Rabbi Dovid Asher grew up in Allentown, Pennsylvania with NCSY and his synagogue as the early molders of his community service. He attended the Jewish Educational Center for high school in Elizabeth, New Jersey. He was the Regional President of New Jersey NCSY and led many chesed programs and Shabbos retreats. Dovid Asher has been the rav of Keneseth Beth Israel, the OU synagogue in Central Virginia, since 2011. He spent ten years in the beis midrash, learning in Rabbeinu Yitzchak Elchanan,Aish HaTorah, Mir, Derech HaTalmud, and Shaarei Mevaseret Tzion. Concurrently, he received a Masters in Mental Health Counseling from Pace University. As part of his rabbinic training, he had several internships including Young Israel of East Brunswick, Riverdale Jewish Center, and Aish NY. Rabbi Asher is the author of Outreach in the Torah from Mosaica Press and continues to teach Torah in a way that encourages a broader sharing of the chochmas (wisdom) HaTorah with those under-affiliated in the Jewish community. Rabbi Asher is joined in these efforts by his wife, Aliza, and their children, Elana, Yaakov, Ora, and Adir Moshe.
