Believing that there had to be a different way – a better way – to manage real estate, Duke Dodson founded Dodson Property Management (DPM) in 2007. The purpose: create experiences that instill a sense of trust, comfort, and pride in owners, in tenants, and in his own people.
Since then, Duke and his team have grown DPM into one of Virginia’s largest and most reputable residential and commercial property managers, overseeing 1,500 single-family homes, 2,000 multi-family units, over 1.5 million square feet of commercial space. The company has also brought its expertise, technology, and people into managing homeowners and condominium associations throughout Central Virginia.
With calculated risk and a sharp business insight, Duke has risen quickly to become one of Richmond’s most prominent commercial and residential developers. He is leading millions of dollars in real estate investment in Central Virginia, concentrating primarily on the rehabilitation of downtown properties into notable multi-family and commercial spaces within the city’s core and Central Business District.
Duke is the past president of both the Richmond and Virginia chapters of the National Association of Residential Property Managers (NARPM) and has served on the Institute of Real Estate Management (IREM) Chapter 38 Board. Duke serves on the Property Management Board of the Better Housing Coalition, on the Urban Land Institute's Local Product Council, the Virginia Tech Real Estate Program Board, the VCU Foundation and serves his fellow alumni and students on the Randolph-Macon College Board of Associates. He holds his master’s in business administration from Virginia Commonwealth University. When Duke is not busy doing his part to revitalize Richmond’s City Center, he can be found enjoying time with his wife, Jess, and their two sons, Tripp and Tucker, on the golf course, or fine tuning his poker skills.
