On August 1, we welcome Kiwanian and Fatherhood Foundation Executive Director Chris Beach as our featured speaker. Chris will be sharing about the Relationship Foundation of Virginia’s recent name change reflecting their focus on fatherhood.
The Fatherhood Foundation of Virginia recognizes that the strength of our community and the future of our city lies in the health of the family, especially the fathers. When men are better prepared, marriages and families and stronger. As the name suggests, Fatherhood Foundation of Virginia is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit purpose driven to strengthen men to be better husbands/co-parents and more active fathers for true systemic change in the Commonwealth.
Studies tell us that by having fathers active in the life of their families, poverty and crime goes down while emotional wellness and educational success goes up. For couples – starting out, in long-term relationships and marriages – they offer coaching and lead engaging programs to create awareness by providing the practical tools to pursue and sustain strong and fulfilling relationships. For men, they equip both new and experienced dads with the skills to be active, committed fathers for life, providing all with the confidence and strength to thrive.
A native Virginian, Chris spent the first part of his career teaching at the elementary and middle school levels. Inspired by his students, he coordinated fundraisers that helped shed light on the challenges they were facing. After several successful events, it led him out of the classroom and into the non-profit world. More than ten years later, Chris draws from his experiences as an educator, a father to four boys and a loving husband to lead the Fatherhood Foundation of Virginia.
