The Virginians Barbershop Chorus

  • Virginia Museum of History & Culture 428 South Arthur Ashe Boulevard Richmond, VA, 23220 United States (map)

The Virginians are Richmond’s Premiere a cappella vocal ensemble, singing four-part harmony in the barbershop style. It is a nationally competitive ensemble that has been performing in central Virginia for over sixty years.

They sing Traditional Barbershop, Doo-wop, Gospel, Pop, Holiday, Broadway Classics, and Contemporary arrangements. In keeping with the National Societies “Everyone in Harmony” outreach, the group is open to both men and women.

In addition to the full chorus, a mini-chorus is often assembled to sing for small groups and special events. The Virginians Chorus is also home to seven barbershop quartets. Additionally, the group is involved in various service projects including building handicap ramps or decks for disabled veterans, arranging concerts at senior facilities, and helping in other ways within our greater Richmond community.
