Club members, families and friends have been given a special invitation to attend the reenactment of Patrick Henry’s “Give me liberty … or give me death!” speech at historic St. John’s Church on Sunday June 11. Designated as Kiwanis Club of Richmond Day, nine professional actors dressed in period costumes from the 1700s will deliver a dramatic presentation of the debates of the 2nd Virginia Convention that culminated with Patrick Henry’s famous words.
We will sit in reserved pews near the actor portraying Patrick Henry and be introduced with special recognition for the Club’s work benefitting children. The St. John’s Foundation will display our logo and promote “Kiwanis Day” through its e-newsletter, website and social media pages.
The reenactment begins at 1:30 p.m. and lasts about 45 minutes. Richmond Kiwanis members receive a special discount price of $10 per person. Tickets can be purchased at https://historicstjohns.ticketspice.com/2023-reenactment-tickets and use coupon code KIW0611. More than 100 people are expected to attend so order your tickets soon.
