The 2022 Richmond Marathon will be held on November 12, 2022. For several decades our Kiwanis Club has been responsible for the first water stop, located on West Broad Street, between the DMV and the Science Museum buildings.

We set up about 16 8' tables and fill them with thousands of water cups and hand out to the racers as they pass by.

Many volunteers are needed to help set up, serve, rake up all the cups. We start setting up by 5:30 am; we should be cleaned up and clear of the site by 10 am. We will see many tens of thousands of runners.  It's quite the spectacle and a fun, yes, FUN, experience, despite the early hour.!

Individuals may volunteer as much time as they can, whether it's for the full time or whatever shift works for you. We especially need help to set up and clean up. The race goes on whether rain or shine, or sleet, or snow, or freezing water in the cups; volunteers should dress accordingly.
