Elvatrice Parker Belsches: Honoring Richmond as the Cradle of Black Capitalism

On February 13 we welcome award-winning public historian Elvatrice Parker Belsches. She is the guest curator and historian for the Forging Freedom Justice and Equality: A Survey of the History of the Black Experience in Virginia exhibition currently at the Black History Museum and Cultural Center of Virginia. She is also the author of the publication, Black America Series: Richmond, Virginia (Arcadia Publishing) and eight biographical entries for the African American National Biography (Hutchins Center for African & African American Research at Harvard University and Oxford University Press.). She has several documentaries in development and was honored to serve as an in-studio researcher on Steven Spielberg’s motion picture LINCOLN.
