An experienced fundraising, strategic planning and communications professional, Brian Shaw joined World Pediatric Project in July 2019 as executive vice president. He was named interim CEO in March of 2020. Prior to joining WPP Shaw served as chief of staff for the president of VCU and director of major projects. He served as vice president and later president of The George C. Marshall Foundation, a historic research library and museum in Lexington, Va. Prior to joining The Marshall Foundation Shaw was vice president of communications and marketing at Washington and Lee University. He began his career as a journalist and editor for Landmark Communications, working for newspapers in Virginia, North Carolina and Kentucky.
Founded in Richmond in 2001, World Pediatric Project is celebrating its 20th year of providing access to critical surgical care to patients and families in Central America and the Eastern Caribbean. WPP accomplishes its mission by sending teams of medical volunteers to the regions where we work, bringing the most critical patients to the United States for treatment and building health care capacity in our partner countries and here in the US.
