Making a Plan to Give

In celebration of our Centennial year in 2019, the Kiwanis Club of Richmond instituted the 1919 Society for members who include the Richmond Kiwanis Foundation in their financial or estate planning and who inform the Club of their generous arrangement. Planned gifts offer ways to continue the Kiwanis legacy as we embark on a second century of service to the children of Richmond, while inspiring and empowering the next generation of Kiwanians.

Unrestricted gifts offer the greatest flexibility to meet future challenges as the needs of our city’s youth change. Carefully structured planned gifts—which can be made during your lifetime or as part of your estate plan—provide support for the Club’s service projects and Foundation grants while delivering substantial financial and tax benefits to you or your heirs. We encourage you to work with your attorney or financial adviser to create a gift that meets your objectives.

 There are many ways to give, including:

  • Make a bequest;

  • Include Richmond Kiwanis Foundation in a revocable, or living, trust;

  • Initiate a charitable gift annuity or charitable remainder trust;

  • Designate a share of the remaining balance of a retirement account; or

  • Gift the Foundation with a life insurance policy you no longer need, either by designating the Foundation as beneficiary, or by giving the Foundation ownership of the policy.

Present and past members, including Bill Gatewood, Dan Wilkinson, and Sam Derieux who have since passed away, lead the way in preserving the Kiwanis legacy. Please consider adding your support to theirs to advance our mission of serving our community! Please let us know if you should be included—either by name or as an anonymous donor—by contacting info@richmondkiwanis.org.
