What is the Kiwanis Club of Richmond?
The Kiwanis Club of Richmond is a diverse group of men and women who join together for fellowship, education, and service, united by our common mission of “serving the children of the world.” We do this as part of Kiwanis International, a global organization of volunteers dedicated to changing the world – one community and one child at a time.
The Club boasts approximately 170 members who meet weekly on Mondays at the Virginia Museum of History & Culture for a catered luncheon hosting a fantastic array of speakers from our community and beyond. Guests are always welcome, and prospective members receive lunch on us!
Our members support several long-term service projects with Richmond Public Schools and several established Richmond-area nonprofit organizations, and we volunteer at community events like the Richmond Marathon and the Monument Avenue 10K. We also raise funds through our annual Kiwanis Cup Golf Tournament and other fundraisers, and we routinely give more than $60,000 a year in scholarships and grants to local community organizations.
The best way to learn about the Kiwanis Club of Richmond is to attend a meeting. We welcome visitors and prospective members to attend an upcoming meeting; walk-in visitors are always welcomed, but you may feel more comfortable attending if you contact our office so that a member from our Club can greet you personally and make sure you feel at home.
