Part 2 of a two part series on Ukraine with Stephen B. Long, Ph.D., Associate Professor of Political Science and Global Studies at the University of Richmond. His teaching specialties are international relations, international security, conflict processes, and American foreign policy. Prof. Long’s research is mostly quantitative analysis of causes of war, military effectiveness, and international agreements. His research has been published in International Studies Quarterly, the Journal of Conflict Resolution, the Journal of Peace Research, Conflict Management and Peace Science, International Interactions, Foreign Policy Analysis, and International Politics. In 2011, he was included in the Princeton Review’s “The 300 Best Professors” (Random House) and he has received UR’s Academic Advising Excellence Award (2011) and International Education Faculty Excellence Award (2022). He currently serves as the President of the University Faculty Senate.
