As a Chartered Financial Analyst®, Chris has a strong understanding of advanced investment analysis and real-world portfolio management. He is a member of Kanawha’s Investment Committee and a financial advisor to individual clientsand endowments. He particularly enjoys developing personalized financial and investment plans as well as researching individual companies.

Before joining Kanawha, Chris was Vice President and Equity Analyst with Crestar Asset Management. Prior to that, he was a Research Analyst with Boys, Arnold & Company, a North Carolina investment advisory firm. He also spent several years as an Economist with the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics in Washington, DC. Chris earned a BA degree from the University of Virginia and an MBA from the Kenan-Flagler Business School, University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

When Chris is not working, he keeps very busy! His interests include freshwater fishing, kayaking, hiking around Richmond with his wife, learning new cooking techniques on his Kamado grill, and working on projects at his 70-year-old home. Chris and his wife, Kaki, have three sons and are nearly empty-nesters.
