Megan Rhyne is the executive director of the Virginia Coalition for Open Government, based in Williamsburg, and the current administrator for NFOIC. In that role she supports the state open government coalitions and facilitates networking to ensure they are well prepared to serve the needs of citizens to access information about their state and local governments. Megan has served on the NFOIC board for nearly 15 years, and has been with VCOG since 1998, becoming its director in 2008. Megan has a BA in radio, television and motion pictures from the University of North Carolina and a JD from the University of Colorado. She has served as an opinions editor for legal publications in Texas and New York and taught media law at Hampton University. She started her open government career as an intern during law school at the Reporters Committee for Freedom of the Press.
