Dr. Pippa Holloway, Ph.D., is the Douglas Southall Freeman Distinguished Professor of History at the University of Richmond. She earned her B.A. and M.A. from the University of North Carolina and her Ph.D. from The Ohio State University. She has published many books and scholarly articles and has received numerous grants and honors, among which are the “Distinguished Lectureship Program of the Organization of American Historians" and the "Willie Lee Rose Prize from the Southern Association for Women Historians". Dr. Holloway is presently the Chair of the Southern Historical Association’s Charles S. Sydnor Award Committee and on the Editorial Board of the Journal of Southern History.
