The Diversity Committee and the Discussion Group are offering an educational theatre outing open to all members and guests: the musical play “A Christmas Kaddish” as presented by the Richmond Triangle Players, Wednesday, December 15 at 7 pm. “In this tuneful holiday treat, Jay is ready to give up, while Leigh is ready to fight – when memories from Holidays Past remind them both – and all of us – about what the spirit of the season is really about.”
Prior to the show, Executive Director Philip Crosby (son of Ralph Crosby and Doug’s brother) will meet with our group to discuss the 28-year history and mission of the RTP. This highly-acclaimed theatre group is devoted to presenting a message about diversity and inclusion: “We stand at the vital intersection in a time in our nation’s history where much progress has been made, and yet so many obstacles to equality remain.” As the Virginia Tourism Corporation states: “RTP is the only professional theatre company in the Richmond area – in fact, in the entire Mid-Atlantic region – which expressly and regularly serves the LGBTQ community.”
The cost for the evening is $32 (ticket and service fee) and includes both admission to the play and the preliminary discussion. Seating is limited, so sign up by December 8 to ensure a place. If you have questions about this opportunity, contact Kiwanians Doug Crosby or Bob Rogers.
